Embedding a link to download a dataset in scenario email report?

Hi,

Our workflows take a user-defined data payload and create N datasets. Is it possible to add a hyperlink with the dataset name as the text and the link being the URL to download the dataset as a CSV file?

thx

Operating system used: Windows 10

    I feel like you are going against the flow here. Dataiku allows users to explore datasets and you can even design dashboards to get data insights without having to move the data outside Dataiku. Furthermore it has built in export to Excel and CSV from the dataset explore screen so why duplicating this functionality? Why not send your users a link to the dataset so they can download the data if required?

    We don't have developer or reader licenses for all users. We use a model where a smaller set of folks do the development of our 'workflows'. The end users use an internal web-app to create a data payload to pass to Dataiku to run a standardized workflow.

    Given that reader licenses are free and unlimited I don’t see why you are going through the trouble of developing a web app and having to maintain it and provide additional security on top. In any case if you have a web app you can easily export a dataset to a CSV file in a managed folder and allow users to download it:

    Reader licenses have nothing to do with the development of the webapp. The webapp creates custom visualizations on the underlying datasets created in the workflow. This conversation is just to allow anyone to download a raw dataset that the webapp uses from the email they receive from the Dataiku scenario (irrespective of the license type). I wish I could get the hundreds of people we serve to be willing to actually login to Dataiku with a reader license. Unfortunately, that is not realistic currently, so for this sub-population of users they asked to be able to download directly from the email.

    @info-rchitect ,

    I get it. Logging into a new system can be scary for some folks. I can see a space to make files available via the method that my internal customers can actually use. I would be sensitive about file size and PII siting in emails.

    Have you looked at the Sendmail plugin?
