Hi,
My name is Yusuf Afolabi, I work for Caterpillar as a data scientist.
I use Flow Zone a lot and it has been very helpful.
Recently, I have been seen situations where navigating to a specific Flow Zone becomes problematic. Think of having like 10 different Flow Zone(s) in a project: you would have to scroll back and forth and keep guessing (try and error) to navigate to the Zone of your interest. Also, objects of your Flow Zone are frequently getting dump into the default Flow Zone and it becomes difficult to find. In this type of situation, having the ability to create multiple tabs within the same project would be really helpful, and keeping track of your Flow Zone would become simple. Think of Excel workbook with different tabs.
I hope this idea gets many votes to be implemented.
Sincerely,
Yusuf Afolabi
I think you should have a look at the search enhancements added on Dataiku 13.4.0. It is now possible to select/navigate to a specific flow zone in 4 mouse clicks.
Hi @afolaba4success ,
Thanks for your suggestion! As mentioned by @Turribeach , we released the new search and filtering feature in 13.4 to help users navigate large flows and easily find zones or object on their flow. I recommend you give it a try - we'd be happy to get your feedback!
Furthermore, in 13.3 we also released the capability to manually move flow zones - so now you can manually organise your flow to more easily align with your own project structure and mental models.
Having said that, we are happy to take your feedback on board so if folks in the broader community would like to see this feature implemented, please upvote this idea.
Best regards,
Damian
