I have a dashboard in our QA environment to develop that I then want to publish to our prod instance. so Ideally I wanted a way to export the dashboard and then import in the other instance.

The recommended approach for publishing project resources, such as dashboards, to alternate nodes is by bundling the project and deploying it via the dss deployer. You can find more information on this process here: https://doc.dataiku.com/dss/latest/deployment/index.html
