use variables inside if then statement in prepare recipe

i want to use variables as a condition inside if then else statement in prepare recipe,

any idea how to use it

If you are talking about project or global Dataiku variables then just use the name of the variable, without anything else. However be aware that depending on the Dataiku version you have, which you haven't specified in your post, the formula editor panel might produce an error such as "Formula is invalid : it has some unknown tokens". But if you click on Apply and run the recipe it should work.
