How to use "Allow SQL across connections" checkbox SQL Recipe

I am trying to join two tables that exist on different connections (each table resides within its own database and SQL Server instance). I thought the "Allow SQL across connections" checkbox in the Advanced tab of the SQL Recipe would enable this functionality, but I run into an error where the table that does not reside within "Main SQL Connection" cannot be found. We are using Dataiku version 6.0.5. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I recommend if this is a blocker and still unresolved to submit a job diagnostic to our support team.
