API Deployer Local vs Remote

Hi, I had a question regarding the Dataiku API deployer node. What is the difference between using the local vs remote API Deployer? Is there any advantage in having a separate API Deployer node or any missing features in the local API Deployer?

Hi,

Using the remote API deployer is useful if you'll have multiple DSS nodes (design or automation) that will publish API services to the API deployer and want a fully centralized views of all of your deployments.

If you only have a single design node that will publish API services, a local API deployer will be simpler and will not be lacking any feature.

If a standalone API deployer is required would this need to be created in a VM?

Hi,

API deployer deploys like any other DSS node (design or automation).

It can either run on its own server, or run in another directory and another port of an existing server.

API deployer does not need high system resources.
