Where is more information on using Freemarker template in email step?

I'm trying to use project variables in a email template for scenario reporting, however, the format seems to be different than anticipated. My sample data I used to design the template works using the Freemarker online template tool, but the data is not as expected when used in the scenario email step. Is there any additional documentation on using variables and Freemarker in the email step? I can only find basic information on the document site. https://doc.dataiku.com/dss/latest/scenarios/reporters.html

The easiest way to include variables or see how this is documented is by actually creating a scenario.

- Create a scenario.

- Add reporter > Mail

On this screen, you'll see examples of variables and their use in, for example, the subject of the email.
