User-defined meaning no longer numerical

I have defined a few "declarative" meanings on my data set for logistical purposes. The data type of the affected columns is "double", but when I use the "Analyze" function on the column the "numerical" tab doesn't appear. If I change the meaning to "decimal" then the numerical tab shows up again.

Am I missing something, or is this expected behavior? Is there any way around this?
