Loading the free version on a Windows 10 Pro machine...

Dear All,

I'd much appreciate advice on whether its easier to setup a Virtual Machine on my PC (personal); or to just accept that I have to upgrade to Windows 10 and download the free copy into that OS. I really would prefer to stay with Windows 10 Pro if I have a reasonable option using the Virtual Machine route.

Any advice or thoughts gratefully received,

Apologies but I'm not sure I understand your question, are you asking if you should install a VM on windows and setup DSS on that, or just setting up DSS on your Windows Operating system instead?

DSS is not designed to natively run on Windows nor is it supported on that platform, as described here: https://www.dataiku.com/product/get-started/windows/

So your next best option would be to install it on a VM, we have documentation that can help assist you with this: https://doc.dataiku.com/dss/latest/installation/other/vm.html

Unable to follow how to install VM as after reaching VM download page, it shows version 6.0 is not supported & no download links as well

Here is the link to what I think is the latest build of DSS in a VM file.

This page https://www.dataiku.com/product/get-started/virtualbox/ Seems to be pointing to a rather old V9.0.1 version of the image. I'm not aware if there is a V10.x VM install page. Maybe one of the moderators can jump in with a link to a current VM on windows 10 or 11 install.
