Hello and welcome to the February Community Release! I’m here to walk you through some of the improvements and fixes we have been working on over the past few months. This is the first update since December, so we have quite a few things to go through, but I’ll be as brief and concise as possible!
Post Confirmation Page
We are focusing on providing you with the right expectations and useful content whenever you post a new topic. To that end, whenever you create a new topic, you will now see a confirmation page that contains useful links and contextual information. We have plans to use this page to better guide new users to their desired solutions, as well as connect them with more experienced users and foster community engagement, so keep an eye out for future updates!
Voice Search Improvements
Our team has been working on improving our voice search feature as well as the usability of our search fields in general. By clicking on the microphone icon, you can use your browser’s built-in speech recognition technology to more easily search the Dataiku Community.
This is a simple accessibility feature that we’re monitoring closely and continuously building upon, in order to make the Dataiku Community a more welcoming and usable place. All feedback is very much appreciated!
Please note that this functionality is currently only available in Safari and Chromium-based browsers like Google Chrome, or Microsoft Edge.
New Default Avatars
The color scheme of the default avatars has been updated, and is now more vibrant and distinct than ever! While users are still free to upload their own custom profile picture, this update will hopefully make choosing a default avatar that much easier. Which one is your favorite?
More Useful Headings
We have gone over the usability of the headings that you can use in your posts and replies, and have optimized the spacing and styling to make them a more attractive solution, especially for longer, more exposition-heavy posts.

Dataiku Neurons Exposure and Discoverability
You can now click directly on the Neuron icon or badge next to a Neuron’s username to learn more about the Dataiku Neurons program. This small change is in the context of a larger overhaul of the profile picture and username element that we have planned. More on that soon!
Expansion of Quick Actions
The Quick Actions menu exists to provide useful links for follow-up actions when you're navigating the Community, or finding it for the first time. We have expanded this feature and made it more useful for different types of users. Where previously we mostly focused on new visitors and users, we now provide more shortcuts that will take into account how experienced you are in the Dataiku Community.
Other Small Improvements and Fixes:
- Improved the Sign Up to Take Part banners to make them more legible and less intrusive.
- Added user signatures to their Idea messages.
- Polished the Kudos Leaderboards styling, particularly when using dark mode.
- Removed a flash of unstyled content on the header that was appearing on slower internet connections.
- Improved the wording and discoverability of topic subscriptions.
- Fixed a Search Engine Optimization issue so that topics are now more easily discovered through Google and other search engines.
- Made small tweaks to the Welcome and Inspiration pages for better usability.
- Made improvements and other fixes to dark mode.
