Links for files in local folders

Hi everyone,
If I put files in a managed folder, can I get absolute links to them? I would like to add some images to my DSS wiki, I need to host these somewhere, and I wonder if a managed folder is a good approach for this, would this work?

The DSS wiki already supports this functionality, see attached example:
- Use the add attachment on the right;
- Click on the image to get the id from the URL
- In the wiki text, use the syntax attached to embed the image.
