In a split recipe, how to split on an empty value ?

In http://doc.dataiku.com/dss/latest/other_recipes/split.html it seems I must provide a value.

I tried to split a column where I changed the null to a value (like unknown) and of course it worked. But I would like to split just on the fact a column has missing values.
