Hi Experts,
I have a situation where we need to install dataiku DSS using the trial license.
Once set up is done for few users, then it will be upgraded to either Discover or Business Edition. Few questions about the same.
1. Is it possible to do so, i.e install DSS using trial version and then upgrade to Discover or Business edition.
2. If yes, what steps are needed for this activity.
Looking forward for the answers.
Thanks,
Amit K
Hi,
It is possible to upgrade a DSS instance from a Free edition to any other edition. Once you receive the final license from Dataiku, you will simply need to go to "Administration > Enter License" and paste your new license file.
However, we often see customers setting up a new instance to ensure that all setup has been done in a "production-grade" way. It is possible to do so while preserving all work already done. If you purchase a paid edition of Dataiku, your Dataiku contacts will help you through that.

@Clément_Stenac Thanks for the quick response.I had a follow up question:
is there any limitation in the approach of installing DSS using trial license and then upgrading it to discover or business editions?
Thanks,

Clement, for the benefit of the academic community, are there any limitations on installing the trial version on a university server and then upgrading to the Business Edition with the academic license? Can you just upgrade with the new license file and keep existing work?
Thank you!
Adela
Hi,
There are no limitations to upgrading from free editions or trials to any license, without losing any existing work.
(Of course, if your new license has fewer features enabled than the previous ones, some feature may stop working, but your work will not be destroyed in any case)
