Support for R >=4.0

There are replies in the discussion board that support for R 4.0 is coming, but when will this finally be available in DSS? R 4.0 was released in April 2020. R 4.2 was released in June 2022. It's been two years, and we're reaching the point where the current versions of many packages now have R 4.0 dependencies.

Good news @dharman and @info-rchitect! DSS can now use R 4 with Dataiku 11.1. In order to use R 4, you need to run the R integration procedure with โ€œRโ€ in the PATH pointing to R 4. All code environments then need to be rebuilt. Cloud Stacks setups are still on R 3.6, and will switch to R 4 in DSS 12.

More information about Dataiku 11.1 can be found here: Brand New Features for Modelers, ML Engineers, and Analysts in Dataiku 11.1 and in the release notes.

Hello Dharman,

We understand your concern, Support for R v4.0/4.x is currently in our backlog. With that being said, I will make a note of your request and forward it to our product team.

Sorry for the inconveniences.

Best,

Agreed, R 4.x will/is become a roadblock for nearly all R users, especially those trying to make web-apps using Shiny.
