Use first row as column headers/column names

I have an excel file whose format is somewhat different.
I need to skip first 9 lines and use 10th line as column names. I have tried using "parse next line as column headers" but it is not working for me.
Has anyone faced this type of error. Please let me know how to resolve it. I am pasting input file format below:

Can you please upload a dummy Excel file that we can use to test? Thanks

Was this solved? I am also interested. In version 14 I cannot find the "use first row as column header" function.

    Hi,

I hope that you are all doing well.

Regarding the original post. The excel file is not a simple table but has additional line prior to a formatted table itself as we can see in your screenshots hence the behavior. All rows get detected however there is a limitation/impact on the table header formatting tool.

In general, I would suggest only uploading a table and work around this by skipping the first few rows and then use first row as header column. However here this seems not possible

@Ignacia for information, this can be found upon upload in the format/preview tab an is named Parse next line as column header as you can see below:

Here in my example I skip the 7 first row and then use the 8th row as a header column. If you simply want to use the first row as column header, "Skip first lines" need to be set as 0 and then Parse next line as column headers needs to be selected.

Now for the original issue, it seems indeed that there is an issue with fetching line 10 as column header or any beyond the first line. This doesn't occur with an excel file matching the simple format below but there seems to be a limitation with your mix of table and rows.

As a workaround for now, I would recommend to switch the format of your excel file to be as follow:

This can definitely be a limitation as you pointed out for differently formatted excel file.

If you think that it would be a useful improvement to parse an excel file or causing any limitations let me know. Thank you very much for bringing this up, we really value your feedback and experience!

Let me know if you have any further questions of inquiries:)

    Best,

    Yasmine
