    Hi,

On Dataiku Cloud, you can connect to a MySQL database by creating a connection from the Administration menu:
    https://knowledge.dataiku.com/latest/data-sourcing/connections/concept-connections.html#managing-connections

The MySQL JDBC driver is already pre-installed on all Cloud instances.

For the Dataiku Cloud Trial, the MySQL server must be accessible over the internet using a public IP address or a fully qualified domain name (FQDN) and port that can be reached from Dataiku Cloud’s source IPs.

You can find your source IPs in the connection menu:
https://knowledge.dataiku.com/latest/cloud-security/how-to-ip-addresses.html#filtering-access-from-dataiku-cloud-to-your-data-sources. We do offer VPN or private connectivity for paid plans.

A common challenge is when your MySQL database is running locally. In that case, you cannot connect directly to localhost or 127.0.0.1 from Dataiku Cloud, since the connection must go through tcp from the cloud instance to your database over the internet. It cannot work through your browser. Thus would need to configure public access and appropriate firewall or port forwarding settings.

If your goal is to connect for testing purposes, you can use a secure tunneling service to temporarily expose your local MySQL server via a public endpoint that Dataiku Cloud can reach. Or leverage a Managed SQL database that allows Public access.
