Is there a library of templates for the Flow Document Generator ... the default generator is a good start, and I'm aware of the scripting available to customize - but I would like to avoid reinventing the wheel if I can

I'm not exactly sure if there's a specific library of templates for the Flow Document Generator. But have you considered using menu templates for Google Docs? They can be customized to fit your needs, and it might save you some time. Check them out at https://docsandslides.com/googledocs/menu/. Just came across them and wanted to share.
