Not able to read a string starting with #

Hi - a naive question: I have a file with a field that has a string value starting with #. It seems when I am importing this file, Dataiku is not able to read these data and leaving it empty.
Any help how I can make it read it. FYI - in my schema settings - it is String and Auto-detect

,although i import a lot of files i have not had this issue (yet)..just performed a small test with an xlsx-file > no problems detected. What kind of file is it that you are trying to import ?
When importing there is this preview plane (or after import select the dataset, go to settings -top right next to actions, and then to the tab "format/preview") > does this #-containing value pop up there ?
