Hi all,
we're about to upgrade one complex customer's instance from version 8 to versione 9.
A) is there any contraindication to do that ? any precautionary measure to take (apart from backup) ?
B) would it be ok to upgrade directly to version 9.0.4 ?
Many thanks in advance. Best Regards.
Giuseppe
Hi Giuseppe,
Yes, there are no issues with directly upgrading from DSS 8.x to DSS 9.0.4. We would, of course, strongly recommend taking a backup of the data directory prior to upgrading. Also, if this is a production environment, best practices usually include doing a trial run of the upgrade in a lower environment (such as dev) first to validate the upgrade. Otherwise, please make sure to follow the steps that are laid out in our upgrade documentation, which you can find here:

Best,
Andrew

Hi,
thanks for the feedback. So let's start!

Let us know how it went. Curious if you had any learnings or surprises - positive and negative - to share.
Hi all,
it has gone quite well. We did have just an issue with the file nginx.conf file because we needed to specify a specific port; because we didn't change that port number in the install.ini file, we did get the standard port back rather than the port we did want to specify. Apart from this (and the time needed: there are more than 620 projects in the instance), the upgraded has worked OK.
Rgds.
