We are currently running DSS 11.0.3 which includes Python 3.6.8. Python 3.6.8 has reported vulnerabilities and we would like to upgrade.
Do we need to upgrade DSS to remove and upgrade Python?
Operating system used: Red Hat
So it depends. If you just want to upgrade your Python code environments to 3.7/3.8/3.9 etc you just install the required Python version in your OS as an alternative Python install and then recreate your code environments on the new Python version. DSS uses another Python environment. To upgrade it you need to run the upgrade script so itโs probably better to do it as part of a DSS upgrade too.
