How to suggest Dataiku ideas

We have just launched a new Product Ideas board for Dataiku here on the Dataiku Community. The Product Ideas board is here to let you share and exchange your ideas on how to improve Dataiku.

Tips for sharing your idea

Here are some tips and guidelines to help get you started:

  • Start with a clear title
  • Describe what challenges it would help you solve
  • Tell us about what it might help you do
  • Include scenarios and use cases
  • Add appropriate label(s)
  • Keep it short and to the point
  • Avoid tech-speak and abbreviations

Idea Submission Guidelines

Make sure your ideas are for the right board. Ideas on this board are meant only for Dataiku. If you have feedback for improving the Dataiku Community, please share it on the Community Feedback board.

Search before posting. Do a quick search and make sure you are not submitting a duplicate. If the idea already exists, show your support by giving kudos to the original idea rather than watering down the potential impact across multiple submissions.

Review the ideas of others. Look at other ideas to see what your fellow community members are requesting, and feel free to discuss them in the comments section. While we consider the numbers of kudos an idea receives, we also consider the amount and quality of member feedback when making our decisions.

Add value. Vote for those items that you like and agree with by giving the idea a kudo. It's a way to recognize someone's effort and to signal to us how important the idea is to you.

Submit a new idea. Adding an idea is just like posting a message on a board. To create an idea, click on the “Suggest an Idea” button, located on the top right side of the idea board.

Include a clear title and description of your idea so others can decide how they would like to vote. Be as straightforward as possible, and tell us about your idea. Remember to include how it would benefit users and why you think we should consider it. By describing a use case, you’ll help us better understand what you want to be able to do; we may even be able to solve your problem more quickly another way. You can also preview your idea and check your spelling before you post the idea.

Don’t forget to include labels. Use labels to categorize your idea. You can choose one or multiple labels to use within your idea. This helps others discover and search for your idea. Not sure which labels to use? Have no fear! Choose the label(s) that you think best fit your idea, and the Dastaiku team will add additional labels as necessary as we review your idea. Here are the labels:
