Free Edition Registration Error
I have installed DSS on linux Centos 7 this morning. DSS was started without error. When access the DSS URL the first time I was asked to select license. At page 2- Select your license, I selected Free Edition and entered the registration info. When clicked "Next" button, I got this error:

Network error
An attempt to communicate with DSS failed. Please check your network connectivity.

Hi,

We can unfortunately not comment on why your corporate proxy is specifically blocking https://my.dataiku.com

If, after discussion with our business team, they provide you with an evaluation license, no registration call will be sent so you will not have this issue.

Did you install DSS V8.0.0?

If so I to am also having problems with a new V8.0.0 install. In my case on a Macintosh.  

You might try putting in a support ticket on this.

Hi,

This error usually indicates that the browser you used does not have full access to Internet and thus cannot register the Free Edition, which is required in order to use it.

Thanks! I tried to register with both Chrome and Firefox.  I wonder if this is an issue of browser settings or company internet access control (proxy, filter, anti-virus)?

Hi,

This is indeed likely a firewall/proxy  issue in your company network. For activation, you need to have abillity to access https://my.dataiku.com

I was unable to connect to https://my.dataiku.com/ from my company network with or the without proxy server so that it was likely due to the Internet protection of McAfee Endpoint Security for which I have no configuration access.

I am evaluating Dataiku for my company to see if I would recommend to buy the app/service. I would if there is a workaround such as through telephone/email registration.

I opened a support ticket with Dataiku but was told with "Since you asked on the community website already, let's continue for the moment there."...

Serena from business/sale kindly worked out a temporary evaluation license for me ! I am able to run the DSS instance now.

Meanwhile our network folks are still looking into the connectivity issue I have with https://my.dataiku.com/.

I truly appreciate everyone's help on issue.
